BACHELORETTE star Devin Strader previously went on a troubling terror spree across Baton Rouge all on the same day, legal documents obtained by The U.S. Sun claim.
Just weeks after breaking Jenn Tran’s heart in a shocking finale that showed the former couple’s failed engagement, more about Devin’s alleged dangerous past has been exposed.
Devin, 28, tried to find love on the most recent season of The Bachelorette and was a clear frontrunner from the beginning to make it all the way to the end.
After an emotional rollercoaster of a season, Devin got down on one knee and proposed to Jenn, who tearfully said “yes.”
However, after production wrapped and the season was airing, Jenn claimed Devin “pulled away” behind-the-scenes almost immediately and eventually broke up with her over the phone.
The two came face-to-face during a tense and tearful reunion at After the Final Rose – where Devin was heavily booed by the crowd for his “cowardly” breakup that left Jenn devastated.
A couple weeks after their tumultuous finale, Devin’s criminal past has been revealed – leaving fans shocked that he was able to bypass the production’s background check process to still be cast on the show.
In documents obtained by The U.S. Sun from the East Baton Rouge Police Department, Devin’s ex-girlfriend filed a restraining order against him on April 12, 2017.
This came on the heels of Devin allegedly “burglarizing” her home and stealing a diamond necklace, the court papers state.
At the time, Devin was a 21-year-old student at Louisiana State University and was living just two doors down from his then-girlfriend.
According to court documents, Devin violated the restraining order a number of times in the following weeks.
On one occasion, she claimed Devin started a fire out in the middle of the street in front of her apartment with the actual restraining order document she filed against him.
On April 21st, he contacted her and asked her to meet him at a bar and on the 23rd, he called her “multiple times during the day” and was “screaming” – as well as leaving a “love letter” inside of her mailbox, the affidavit stated.
However, things took an even more harrowing turn on April 25th when Devin was charged with a DWI by Baton Rouge PD and continued to violate the restraining order against him – all on the same day.
His ex claimed in the doc that Devin and the officer repeatedly knocked on her door at 4:30 am, moments after his DWI, until she answered the door.
“He told the cop I was his girlfriend and he wanted to talk to me so I can bail him out of jail.
“I told the cop I had a restraining order on him and the cop apologized for waking me up. After the cop left, I received 4 phone calls from Devin.
“He knocked on my door later that day and called me multiple times. He also called me the next day,” she wrote in the affidavit.
In a now-unsealed petition for protection obtained by EW, the ex-girlfriend claimed Devin also “spit on me and threw his drink on me at Pelicans game in front of everyone in the crowd,” and “put me in a chokehold covering my mouth.”
Eventually, the ex-girlfriend filed a follow-up violation order on May 2, 2018.
However, Devin entered a plea deal and the charges for the burglary, DWI and violating the restraining order were eventually dropped on the grounds of him remaining conviction-free and drug-free.
The Texas native was also ordered to pay less than $500 in fines, perform 30 hours of community service either at the LSU Library or Church, complete online classes, maintain employment and continue to have no contact with the victim.
The U.S. Sun has reached out to ABC for comment.
A source close to the network responded to fans concern that someone with such a dangerous history bypassed the background check and was still selected for the dating show.

Neither Jenn nor Devin have spoken out yet since his past has been revealed however, many fans are furious the show missed this and demand “justice for Jenn!”
“DO BETTER, ABC!”
“Wow. The @BacheloretteABC doing what amounts to a cursory background check letting someone with such a dangerous past into the group of men for the show.
“Between this and how they made Jenn watch the proposal- This show doesn’t care about love and maybe doesn’t care about women,” one X user wrote.
Another raged: “The show’s response is disgusting. Where is the apology to Jenn, the accountability and the steps they will take to do better?”
“If the show can’t guarantee safety to the women they cast, no woman should go on it. It’s not worth it. They cast too many dbags these days,” an angry fan tweeted.
