Lima started her career as a production assistant at NBC4 in Columbus, Ohio, after graduating from college. She soon relocated to Los Angeles to pursue her acting career. Lima made her acting debut in Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles in 2008, as Franny. She played Haley in an episode of How I Met Your Mother the same year. She appeared in films such as Privileged (2008), My Own Worst Enemy (2008), and Ghost Whisperer (2009) in small parts.
Lima was a series regular on the online sitcom Poor Paul (2008-2009), playing the main character Elizabeth.
