Rylan is celebrating being an ambassador for i heart Wines

The nation’s favourite TV legend and i heart Wines brand ambassador, Rylan Clark-Neal chats to Female First exclusively about the Spice Girls, his idea of the perfect night in vs a wild night out, as well as winter party plans and post-lockdown life.

What’s your favourite wine to enjoy on a Friday night with friends?

I absolutely love a vino; my favourite has got to be a merlot. My go-to wine of choice is the i heart Merlot from i heart Wines. It’s very classy and perfect for those with veneers… you never get red wine teeth!

However, I like to have an array on offer as everyone has very different tastes. The full range from i heart has something for everyone. I’ve got it stocked in my fridge, ready for a lovely time!

What’s your go-to on the karaoke during those wild nights out?

I love a bit of karaoke. I’ve got a few go-to songs. Santana’s Smooth is a bit of a bop, then I might just chuck in a little bit of Jason and Kylie for good measure.

If you could spend one night partying with anyone in the world, who would you choose and why?

If I could spend one night partying with anyone in the world, I would choose all five Spice Girls – Emma, Victoria, Geri, Mel B, Mel C, the whole gang – I’d get them on the vino and make it happen again! Thrash it out! Vicky, she’s got a lovely set of lipsticks, but we want her back on stage.

It’s hard to pick my favourite Spice Girls’ song – it’s like choosing a favourite child – but Spice Up Your Life is a tune.

“If I could spend one night partying with anyone in the world, I would choose all five Spice Girls”

Do you prefer staying in as the nights are getting colder?

To be honest, I’ve always preferred staying in, but recently I’ve got a little bit of an itch to start going out again. I do need to start going out as I’m becoming a bit of a hermit. We’ll see how that pans out.

I went to the Attitude Awards recently, which was my first big night out post-pandemic. I think that was more raucous than any club I’ve ever been to!

Do you have any top tips for enjoying the upcoming winter weekend nights in?

For the perfect winter night in, you need to find something you want to watch on the tele. Light the fire. If you ain’t got a fire, light a nice candle. Pour yourself a glass of wine and cook some good food. Choose your companion wisely… and you never know you might get lucky!
